Welcome!  These frequently asked questions can also be found on our Facebook Group.

Below you will find a few of the questions that are frequently asked during conversations with our client guides. This list is not comprehensive and you may have more specific or different questions. But, it does cover the most common questions we are asked. We wanted to provide this FAQ to you as we covered a ton of information during your Inquiry call and we want to make sure you have some info to take with you to remind you of all of the things we spoke about.

  • Who is Resilience Naturopathic?

Resilience Naturopathic (RN) is a practice based out of California started by Dr. Jennifer Bahr.  It is made up of Naturopathic Doctors (ND’s) across the US who consult remotely, via phone or private/secure video appointments.  These doctors are highly trained in homeopathy and have received further training in the treatment of PANS/PANDAS (P/P) under the supervision of Dr. Bahr.  They treat PANS/PANDAS (as well as siblings and parents of p/p children) using classical homeopathy (one remedy at a time based on the totality of symptoms and the individual as a whole).

  • Do I need a diagnosis to work with Resilience Naturopathic?

No. Homeopathy works based on the totality of symptoms and the individual as a whole.  It’s all about how each person experiences and presents with symptoms. While you do not need an official diagnosis, RN only works with people who fit the P/P diagnostic criteria, and family members with related diagnoses (i.e. parent of P/P child dealing with PTSD symptoms, etc.) If you are not sure if your child fits the P/P diagnostic criteria, please call the office and they can help determine if their practice is the right fit, and if not, they will do their best to refer you to a homepath that would be better for your case.

Please note: If your child is 18 or over they must consent to work with RN to be able to provide care, unless you have guardianship. They must also participate in visits when it is developmentally appropriate/reasonable.

  • What type of homeopathy does Resilience Naturopathic practice?

Resilience Naturopathic providers practice classical homeopathy. That means taking only one remedy at a time as recommended by your provider.

  • Do I need to do extensive lab testing to work with Resilience Naturopathic?

No. That’s another great thing about the beauty of homeopathy. Remedies are selected on the totality of symptoms, so identifying the root infection is not necessary.

  • Does Resilience Naturopathic participate with insurance?

Unfortunatley No. We do not and cannot provide insurance (ICD-10) codes. You will need to work with your insurance provider to see if they will cover Resilience Naturopathic’s services.

  • How can homeopathy help my child?

Homeopathy addresses the root cause which is susceptibility.  Instead of only suppressing symptoms, or chasing infections, titers and all the bloodwork, homeopathy helps the body get back into balance so it no longer has this misdirected immune response. Homeopathy guides the body to heal itself.

  • Can I use homeopathy myself to treat symptoms?

This is not advised for a complex, chronic condition like P/P.  Choosing a remedy is an intricate process that requires extensive training and knowledge of both homeopathy and the chronic issue being addressed.  There are over 3,000 homeopathic remedies. It is possible that you could find some relief, however, it is more likely to be palliative, rather than curative.

  • Do you have to stop other supplements or medications?

No. The only thing that must be stopped prior to and during treatment with Resilience Naturopathic are any other homeopathic treatments.  The Providers recommend keeping everything the same when starting treatment (supplements, antibiotics, vitamins, etc) so that there is only one variable changing at a time, which is the addition of the remedy. This enables your provider to ascertain the effectiveness of your unique remedy selection.  Over time the goal is to reduce or remove altogether the need for supplements of other medications.  That reduction will come in time as healing occurs and succeptibility is reduced.

  • Do you have to stop working with other doctors?

No. You must retain a relationshiop with a local provider  that can treat your child for acute illnesses and prescribe medications, if needed.  Resilience Naturopathic cannot order labs or provide for acute medical via telemedicine if that becomes a need.

  • What’s the difference between an aggravation and return of old symptoms?

An aggravation is the intensification of current symptoms. The return of old symptoms, while on a homeopathic remedy, is generally a sign of therapeutic healing. Aggravations can happen when you start a new remedy, a new potency, or too frequent dosing. Your doctors will guide you on the process of dosing and determining what is happening and what to do.

Remedies can be purchased a few different ways. Some can be bought at a local store (such as Whole Foods or Sprouts). There are places online to order them and Resilience Naturopathic also can mail them to you. They offer regular and overnight shipping from California.
