Dr. Mariah Mosley, ND
Growing up in the Midwest, I had never heard of naturopathic medicine or homeopathy. Growing up in a conventional medicine-minded family who suffered greatly from chronic pain and mental illness (which brought immense stress and difficulties as a child), I didn’t think healing was even possible. “Grin and bear it” or “suffer through it” were our way of life, and there was no hope of healing. When I found naturopathic medicine, I was amazed. A type of medicine that offers HOPE, and then actually follows through and assists the body to heal itself? It seemed too good to be true! But when I started learning this medicine, and seeing the patients regain their lives and health back, I knew I would never go back to the allopathic way of thinking.
The moment I was sold on homeopathy was a personal one. I had a bad car crash in which my car was totaled, and it left me with severe anxiety in which I had panic attacks when driving, so I couldn’t drive more than 1-2 miles. It was debilitating to say the least. I tried everything, you name it, and couldn’t seem to get myself back to normalcy. The day my homeopathic doctor prescribed a remedy according to my particular symptoms, I drove over 25 miles without any anxiety whatsoever. Now this may not sound like the biggest deal to some, but as a woman who loves driving cars and lives in the country, it is an important one!
I get to hear success stories like this and much more on a daily basis with naturopathic medicine. Our medicine works, and I feel beyond blessed that God has placed me in this field where I get to help people get their lives back.”
Dr. Mariah Mosley is a licensed naturopathic doctor in Alaska, and in her practice she sees both children and adults. She works using the foundations of naturopathic medicine: find and remove the “root cause” of the issues (any obstacles to cure), support the body and provide what it needs to heal (nutrition, lifestyle, environment), and stimulate the vital force which will push the body to heal itself (this is where homeopathy comes in!). In her free time, Dr. Mosley enjoys hiking, fishing, camping by a fire, riding horses, reading one of her many books, visiting her family, and bargain shopping.
