FAQs

Naturopathic doctors take a minimum of four years of pre-medical studies with a bachelor’s degree requirement, followed by four
or more years at one of seven recognized colleges of naturopathic medicine. The Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical
Colleges (AANMC) was established in February 2001 to propel and foster the naturopathic medical profession by actively supporting
the academic efforts of accredited and recognized schools of naturopathic medicine.

A Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM) is not regulated and licensed in the United States or Canada. Unfortunately, in California and many other states, anyone, regardless of training and education, can call themselves a naturopath. There is no independent regulatory body that ensures that these individuals have appropriate training or that standards of practice are being maintained. You can be sure you are seeing a highly trained medical professional when they have ND (or NMD) after their name and went to a school accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME).

The providers at Resilience Naturopathic practice classical homeopathy. That means taking only one remedy at a time and recommended based on the law of similars.
Classical homeopathy is focused on the single best medicine based on the law of similars, and used in the minimal effective dose. Only one remedy is used at a time and is based on the totality of the individual’s symptoms. Other forms of homeopathy use combination remedies (multiple remedies mixed together onto the same pellet) or multiple remedies at the same time. Some people use remedies based on diagnosis, trigger, etc. Some homeopaths have devised their own approach to selecting remedies such as facial analysis or using machines or muscle testing. None of these uses of dilute medicines are actually homeopathy and have not been used for hundreds of years with consistent results. These approaches are largely theoretical and not based in the rigorous process of proving and clinical confirmation that is the basis of classical homeopathy. Improvements seen with non-classical approaches are often palliative, where classical homeopathy can lead to complete resolution.
Yes, all of our provider team are employees of Resilience Naturopathic. They are best in class, licensed naturopathic doctors with a special interest in homeopathy and all personally selected and trained by Dr. Bahr and her leadership team. Having providers as employees ensures that we have consistent practices on all aspects of care, which is vital to ensuring our clients get the care they deserve, regardless of who they are working with long term or for acute visits. We do not hire or train independent contractors and, if any outside practitioner uses our name or infers they are authorized to use our name, they are doing so without our express consent.
No. Homeopathy works based on the totality of symptoms and the individual as a whole. It’s all about how each person experiences and presents with symptoms.
Even though all of our providers are licensed naturopathic doctors who are trained to diagnose and treat medical conditions, the nature of virtual consultation is such that we cannot legally provide a diagnosis. We are acting as homeopathic consultants and, if you require a diagnosis for any purpose, you will need to see a local provider.

No. All of our providers work remotely, so we are able to care for clients all over the world. Our providers have had great success with the virtual setup of the practice, and we get lots of feedback from caregivers who find relief from attending appointments from the comfort of their own homes.

We do work with immediate family members of our PANS/PANDAS clients. We often see “soft signs” in siblings or a possible PANS history in a parent, and homeopathy can help. We will also work with parents for the trauma they have experienced as a result of PANS because that is often the final key in healing for the child. For all other conditions, we will refer to outside providers that we trust.
Yes. We work with these cases when they are present in conjunction with PANS/PANDAS.
Yes. In fact, we ask that you not make any changes to medications or supplements until we have started homeopathy AND see improvements. Once improvements occur, you can discuss the appropriate time to make changes with your provider. Your provider will educate you so that you can discuss any changes with the doctor who has prescribed the medications or supplements.
Due to the nature of working virtually, we are unable to write prescriptions for your child. You must maintain a relationship with a local doctor for all medical care.
No. Homeopathy is a healing therapy, so in time, regular use will not be necessary. However, many people decide to continue to work with us for general health purposes because of how effective homeopathy is.
No. We are a cash pay office and all payments are due at time of service. We do not accept health insurance and are unable to provide superbills and/or a diagnosis code. We can provide a standard invoice, without coding, but you will need to work with your insurance provider from there and we cannot guarantee any form of insurance reimbursement. Some of our clients are successful in using their HSA credit card for payment, but this varies with HSA Administrators.
No. Remedy selection is based on the way your child is uniquely experiencing each of his/her PANS symptoms. Lab tests do not change how our providers care for their clients.
Some more common remedies can be bought at local stores such as Sprouts or VitaminShoppe. Remedies can be ordered from a trusted online source, or Resilience Naturopathic clients can have remedies shipped directly to them with purchase and shipping fees.

Yes, we work with families from around the world. Our client guide team will discuss logistics and considerations for your specific case.
